Five Minute Jobs Support

Need help with Five Minute Jobs?

Five Minute Jobs is designed to make small tasks easier to start and finish. Choose how much time you have, get a suitable job and turn spare minutes into progress.

Getting Started

When you first open Five Minute Jobs, follow the welcome screen and tap Get Started.

The app includes starter jobs to help you begin. You can also create your own jobs at any time.

How do I get a job?

Open the Today tab and select how much time you have available:

5 minutes · 10 minutes · 15 minutes · 30 minutes

Tap Give Me a Job and Five Minute Jobs will choose an available job that fits your selected time.

The app can consider factors including priority, favourites and overdue jobs when selecting a job.

How do I add my own job?

Open the Jobs tab and tap the + button.

You can give the job a title and configure options such as its estimated duration, category, priority, notes and repeat schedule.

What are repeating jobs?

Jobs can be configured as:

One-off · Daily · Weekly · Fortnightly · Monthly

A repeating job becomes available again when it is next due.

A one-off job is finished once it has been completed.

What does Ready mean?

Ready jobs can be completed now.

What does Overdue mean?

A repeating job becomes Overdue when its next scheduled due date has passed.

What does Done mean?

Done contains jobs that have been completed and aren't currently due.

Repeating jobs can move from Done back to Ready when they become due again.

What are Favourites?

You can mark important jobs with the star button.

Favourite jobs are easier to find and may receive additional priority when Five Minute Jobs chooses a job for you.

How do Daily Goals work?

You can choose how many jobs you would like to complete each day.

Your Today screen shows your progress toward that goal.

Completing enough jobs to reach your daily target counts toward your streak.

Where can I see my progress?

Open the Progress tab.

You can view information such as completed jobs, time spent completing jobs, recent activity and your current and best streaks.

How do reminders work?

Go to:

Settings → Notifications

You can enable an optional daily reminder.

Your iPhone must also allow notifications for Five Minute Jobs.

If reminders aren't appearing, check:

iPhone Settings → Notifications → Five Minute Jobs → Allow Notifications

How do I change my default job time?

Go to:

Settings → Default Time

Choose your preferred default duration.

How do I change my daily goal?

Go to:

Settings → Daily Goal

Select the number of jobs you want to complete each day.

Can I use Dark Mode?

Yes.

Go to:

Settings → Appearance

Choose:

System · Light · Dark

System follows your iPhone's current appearance setting.

Where is my data stored?

Your jobs, completion information and app preferences are stored locally on your device.

Five Minute Jobs does not currently require an online account.

I deleted the app. Can I recover my jobs?

Deleting Five Minute Jobs may also remove locally stored app data.

The current version does not provide an account-based backup or recovery system, so you should not rely on being able to restore data after deleting the app.
