PhotoQuest Privacy Policy
Effective date: 27 August 2026
PhotoQuest respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the PhotoQuest mobile application.
Information We Collect
PhotoQuest does not require an account and does not collect personal information through developer-operated servers.
The app does not include advertising, tracking or third-party analytics.
Location Information
PhotoQuest may request access to your approximate or precise location while you are using the app. Location is used to provide relevant photography locations, local weather conditions, sunrise and sunset times, and shooting recommendations.
Your location is not stored by the developer, sold, used for advertising or used to track you across other apps or websites.
You can disable location access at any time through your device’s Settings app. Some location-based features may not work correctly when location access is disabled.
Weather and Map Services
PhotoQuest uses Apple services, including WeatherKit, Core Location, MapKit and Apple Maps, to provide weather, location and mapping features.
Information handled by these Apple services is subject to Apple’s privacy policies and platform protections.
Information Stored on Your Device
Information such as favourite locations, downloaded offline information, saved photography gear, challenge progress and app preferences is stored locally on your device.
PhotoQuest does not transmit this locally stored information to developer-operated servers. You can remove it using the app’s available controls or by deleting PhotoQuest from your device.
AI Coach and Photographs
PhotoQuest’s AI Coach operates locally on your device using built-in photography guidance and on-device image analysis.
Photographs are accessed only when you deliberately select an image through Apple’s system photo picker. PhotoQuest receives access only to the photographs you select and does not access your complete photo library.
Selected photographs, AI Coach questions and analysis results are not uploaded to PhotoQuest, transmitted to an external AI provider, retained on a server or shared with third parties.
PhotoQuest does not use OpenAI, Cloudflare or any other third-party artificial-intelligence service.
Data Sharing
The developer does not sell, rent or share personal information with advertisers, data brokers or third-party AI providers.
Children’s Privacy
PhotoQuest is not designed to collect personal information from children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
PhotoQuest relies on Apple’s operating-system security and encrypted network connections used by Apple services. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated if PhotoQuest’s features or data-handling practices change. Updates will be published on this page with a revised effective date.
